CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
Yoga Therapy: more individualized attention and sequences and specific topics for remedial practice for injuries/conditions. Students with medical issues should seek doctor’s permission before beginning any exercise program or attending classes.
Gentle/ Level 1 Iyengar Yoga Foundations BEGINNERS New to yoga, the Iyengar Method or resuming Iyengar Yoga after a break, learning foundations to establish a practice, learning how to navigate conditions. Students with medical issues should seek doctor’s permission before beginning any exercise program or attending classes.
Continuing Iyengar Yoga Continuing Foundational classes for experienced beginners, and experienced continuing students to focus on foundations, including remedial therapeutic applications of yoga practice to remove obstacles to yoga. Learn how to navigate problems and issues (physical/physiological/mental/emotional). For students working to establish regularity of yoga practice and study and to intensify and diversify practice. Students with medical issues should seek doctor’s permission before beginning any exercise program or attending classes.
Levels 2-4 Intermediate Iyengar Yoga Intermediate: Students of 2 years minimum Iyengar Yoga Study with an established Iyengar Yoga practice. 1 hr. 30 minutes. Challenging practice for experienced students with a regular established Iyengar Yoga practice that includes inversions. Students have experience with navigating their problems through practice, but may need some extra guidance and direction when facing acute issues.
Levels 3-4 Exploring Iyengar Yoga Theory in Practice Intermediate/Advanced: Challenging class for students of 5 years minimum Iyengar Yoga Study exploring an expansive range of āsana with an established, self-directed daily Iyengar Yoga practice, including inversions (Sirsasana and Sarvangasana variations) and pranayama. Requires Jennifer’s permission in advance. 2 hrs
