September 20 Morning Asana Class: Carrying On: Asana for finding freedom in the Neck & Shoulders

Registration is for the full 11-week semester for reasons of continuity, safety, and progression. Students should register for the appropriate level class based on student experience level with Iyengar Yoga and intensity of at home practice: increasing intensity is according to one’s practice regularity, practice duration, ability to self-navigate problems or conditions. Class video library available at 50% or 100% discount for Light on Yoga Institute students. Recordings of online classes are available to registered students including for missed classes. Please email jennifer@iycgr.com with any questions or concerns or to receive guidance as to appropriate class level. All classes meet in Ada, Michigan or virtually online with zoom.

Class Time Zone is EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) Classes are Hybrid: both Online via Zoom & In-Person classes in Ada, MI. Those registering for in-person may also attend live online class when it is best for them. Class will switch to online only if conditions warrant it. Video recordings are available for any missed classes. Minimum class numbers must be met for class to run, and will be determined by September 1. Please sign up in advance.

CLASS VIDEO LIBRARY: Registering for 1-2 classes per week, video class library is 50% off. If registered for 3 classes or more/week, video class library is free. Recordings of missed online classes will be sent to all registered students.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Level 1 Iyengar Yoga Foundations

BEGINNERS New to yoga, the Iyengar Method or resuming Iyengar Yoga after a break, learning foundations to establish a practice, learning how to navigate conditions. ** minimum number of students required to register in advance to hold this class.

Tuesdays 6pm - 7:15pm ET

Thursdays 11am -12:30pm ET

Yoga Therapy “Remedial” Gentle Yoga/Seniors

A slower-paced class to accommodate all students with injuries, chronic conditions such as osteoporosis, Parkinson’s, arthritis, and/or those who need a slower paced class due to age or physical condition. Also for those new to yoga, the Iyengar Method or resuming Iyengar Yoga after a break, for Seniors needing a slower paced more gentle class, for students learning foundations to establish a practice, learning how to navigate conditions.  Students with medical issues should seek doctor’s permission before beginning any exercise program or attending classes.

Level 2 Continuing/Intermediate Iyengar Yoga

 Continuing Foundational classes for experienced beginners, and experienced continuing students to focus on foundations, and learn how to progress safely with inversions and more complicated poses. For students working to establish regularity of yoga practice and study and to intensify and diversify practice.  Intermediate: Students of 1 year minimum Iyengar Yoga Study with an established daily Iyengar Yoga practice. Must know the Sanskrit names of poses, have a regular yoga practice that includes inversions.

Levels 3-4 Advanced

  Exploring Iyengar Yoga Theory in Practice Intermediate/Advanced: Challenging class for students of 5 years minimum Iyengar Yoga Study exploring an expansive range of āsana with an established, self-directed daily Iyengar Yoga practice, including inversions (Sirsasana and Sarvangasana variations) and pranayama. Requires Jennifer’s permission in advance. 2 hrs

Tuesdays 10am - 12pm

Private Lessons/ Yoga Therapy
